Ghanian Sohumi and occupied Sokhumi have “twinned” - the Abkhazian occupation regime has another attempt at “international recognition”.

A “twinning” agreement was signed in the occupation regime’s de facto cabinet of ministers between occupied Sokhumi and the city of Sohumi in the Sohumi municipal district of the Republic of Ghana.

The document was signed by the de facto mayor of the occupied city, Temur Agrba, and the king of Ghana’s Sohumi, Borimo Amoako Darko. Agrba wished the Ghanaian guests “peace and prosperity” and noted that their visit is an official confirmation of friendship.

The vice-mayor of Ghana’s Sohumi, Frank Danso, thanked the hosts for the warm welcome and directly stated that their delegation arrived in Abkhazia to present their country’s economic, investment, and agricultural potential - they hope that local businessmen will invest in Ghana’s “Sohumi”. The king even presented them with the rules for acquiring and using land.

At the end of the ceremony, the parties exchanged gifts: the Sokhumi occupation administration presented the Ghanaian “king” with a silver cup, a bashlyk (qabalaqi), and an alabasha (traditional Abkhazian stick), while the guests presented them with national scarves.
